The Central Government has introduced a brand named ‘NAFED Bharat Rice’, in collaboration with the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED). The primary objective of this initiative is to provide consumers with affordable, high-quality rice, while also supporting farmers and ensuring food security for everyone. ‘Bharat Rice’ signifies the perfect blend of Quality, Affordability, Availability, and Accessibility.

NAFED, or the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd., was founded on 2nd October 1958. It is registered under the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act. The establishment of NAFED aimed to promote the cooperative marketing of agricultural produce to benefit farmers.
